Well, I'm actually not a PhD student yet, but I'll be there eventually. I just started my graduate degree this past fall in Environmental and Occupational Health at the University of Pittsburgh. My plan is to work for states' health departments wherever I end up. I'm adventurous and spontaneous, so who knows where I'll be when I finish school. I love learning, though, so I'm definitely happy where I am, and I intend to stick it out until the end. It might take me a bit longer to get there because I'd like to take a break between my Master's and PhD to start a family with my fiance, but we'll see.

I'm also liking the new look of the forum; glad they did maintenance on it today. :)

Thanks, MaryP. I didn't take this picture myself. I'm a horrible photographer and probably would've ended up taking a picture with my fingers in the way or something. I actually just pulled this picture from Google Images. I study Environmental Sciences, so I think this avatar definitely represents who I am and what I want to do eventually for states' health departments. :)

Hi! I like your avatar. Did you take that photo yourself?

Hi maddieg. I took some time off to have my daughter (in September), but I'm going back this fall. I'm in a PsyD program and I'm from Delaware. My mom grew up in Pittsburgh. It's beautiful there.
I didn't post too much on the old forum, but this one seems fine to me.

Welcome, maddieg!

I'm glad you like the new forum! We hope this one will be easier for users than our old format. Hopefully, more users will start coming out of the woodwork and posting more.

Good luck in your studies!
