If you have been enjoying all the student discount savings so far, then you are going to love these last couple of discounts in the finale of my series on student discounts.  In reviewing the remaining discounts on my list, I couldn’t think of any way to logically categorize these remaining items (because you know how we graduate students love to logically categorize things), so I will simply call them the totally random and still awesome savings.

Totally Random But Still Awesome Discounts

Being a graduate student does have some advantages and these are just a few more places where you can use your student status to save some dough.

·         Sam’s Club – Discounted membership AND $15 gift card

·         Amazon Prime for Students – enjoy 6 months of free prime shipping,  Amazon Instant Video, and a discounted rate for Amazon Prime after the 6 month free period

·         FedEx – Save 20-30% off shipping (can come in really handy when shipping items in graduate school relocation)

·         New York Times – Discounted subscriptions

·         The Wall Street Journal – Up to 75% off cover price

·         Insurance – Many insurance companies will offer “good student” discounts.  Check out special offers offered by Allstate, Geico, Esurance, State Farm, and Farmers to see if you qualify.

·         Greyhound – 20% off unrestricted tickets; 40% on package shipping

·         Amtrak – 15% off fares

·         Local Public Transportation – Most, if not all, public transportation systems offer discounts for students ranging from discounted passes all the way up to free fare for students who present their student ID

·         CorePower Yoga – Up to 20% off drop-in rates as well as monthly packages

So that is the end of my list of great ways to use your student discount to save money on technology, entertainment, clothing and accessories, and a whole bunch of other random discounts.  If you know of any discounts that I missed, please let if as a comment below.
